Adrian worked late last night, so Olive and I were left to our own devices for dinner. And so, we had French toast. I don’t usually add vanilla to my batter, but I felt compelled to last night. It was nice and light and made Olive and I quite happy. (She tore through two pieces, [...]

We haven’t eaten a steak in quite a while, and for whatever reason I decided that I needed to have one. This was a biggie, and I am admittedly quite terrible at cooking steak. I ended up having to *shudder* microwave it towards the end as it was way too rare. But it was still [...]
Snow Storm

I am seriously over this whole snow thing. I’m ready for spring in a big way. Olive, on the other hand, still dreams of running through big drifts and making snow angels. Not likely, lady.
Pancakes for Supper!

We were out of town on Sunday morning, so we missed our weekly pancake fix. In anticipation of the oncoming snow, I decided to make them last night with some sausage links. I love breakfast in general, and I could pretty much eat breakfast all day. This was a nice little treat.
Adrian requested chocolate chips [...]

Last night I was inspired. Adrian picked up a large, round loaf of bread on his way home a few nights ago, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it aside from slice it and toast it. We had some chicken in the freezer that I wanted to use up, so I came [...]

Adrian broke out Rock Band over the weekend, and finally opened up and assembled the drum kit. I think that Olive has found her calling.
Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is one of my favorite recipes. It’s from the back of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. It yields 8 jumbo chocolate chip cookies, and they are so so good. I baked these on Monday afternoon and they are gone. Olive enjoys the fact that they are so big.

Adrian is taking me to the movies tomorrow. I am quite excited. Olive will be hanging with my parents. I think she will welcome the change of scenery.
Enjoy your weekend!
Time to Make the Bagels

On Monday night, I made bagels for dinner. Literally. I boiled and baked my own bagels. It was awesome.
Firstly, the yeast that I used was a bit on the old side, so they didn’t rise as much as they should have. Secondly, my inferior rolling abilities left me with holes that were bigger than desirable. [...]
Roasted Potato Pizza!!! (and a busy weekend)

I wanted to make this pizza about two weeks ago, but things got crazy and it just didn’t happen. Needless to say, I was super excited to make it on Friday night. I LOVE POTATOES.
I peeled and diced a few potatoes, chopped up some garlic and fresh rosemary, tossed everything in olive oil and a [...]
